The VPACE Kids Cup has firmly established itself as the premier racing series for very young riders. The level of competition has now reached such a high standard that full-fledged short downhill courses are being used as venues for the races. In response, the MTB Zone Bikepark Willingen has created a new course specifically for the race.
Just like in previous years, the race started with a few turns through the meadows before turning onto the new section. None other than Diddie Schneider took charge of the course, adding waves, small jumps, a rock field, and all kinds of turns. In addition, the track was extended slightly, making the race even more exciting.
Over 150 kids from six countries signed up for the second race of the series. The participants and their parents alone were enough to fill the event grounds. But since the race was part of the Bike Festival, it drew even more people to the track. The mood and atmosphere were fantastic and perfectly suited to the occasion. The kids put on a top-notch racing display and delivered a race full of excitement. Particularly noteworthy was the high proportion of girls.
Once again, Willingen provided the perfect setting for the Young Guns. The level of riding is so high that you can definitely spot a few future stars of downhill racing here. Still, it’s all about having fun. Spending quality time with old and new friends is more important than the result.
