YouTubeDownhill stars on the attack
Things got serious in the early afternoon - the seeding run was scheduled for the iXS Downhill Cup course. The first foretaste of the grand finale on Sunday. And it had it all: technical passages, high speed, goosebumps. Anyone who wanted to secure a good starting position had to risk everything today - and many did. The spectators along the route? Cheering, cheering, clapping. That's what race day feels like.
Orbea Wild Ride
Also with plenty of e-power: Orbea Wild Ride. This was a race for all e-enduro fans across the bike park and the surrounding trails. Technical uphills, fun downhills and plenty of thrust under the pedals - the race had everything a good e-enduro day needs. The participants? Fully motivated. The atmosphere? Relaxed and fully focussed at the same time.
See VideoSmall bikes, big show: the Puk-Offs
What happens when adults get on mini bikes and seriously compete against each other? Exactly - the Puk-Offs. Crazy, wild, loud, fast and with a real fun factor. At first, the qualifying session started at 11 a.m., but by the main event at 2 p.m. there was no holding back. Short bikes, tight turns, loud applause. No wonder this contest has long since achieved cult status.
Of course, there were also some well-known names among the winners. Thirteen-year-old Jonas Domhöfer and slopestyle legend Sam Pilgrim, who honourably passed on his prize money to Jonas, lined up behind first-placed Lukas Schäfer.
VPACE Rookies & Kids
Saturday was another family day: at the VPACE Kids Cup, the youngsters showed just how much talent they already have in their little legs on a closed-off course. Every run was celebrated, every finish cheered. Later in the afternoon, the slopestyle rookies took over the set-up. The VPACE Rookies Jam was the perfect stage for stylish tricks, courageous lines and lots of applause from the crowd - not just for the skills, but for the courage to show off.
Technique, style & creativity: Schanzenwerk Best Trick
Things got spectacular again at the end of the contest programme. At the Schanzenwerk Best Trick from 5.30 pm, the riders flew through the slopestyle as if remote-controlled - and delivered. Backflips, whips, tricks and lots of style - it was all there. It wasn't about points, but about the best trick and the loudest reaction from the audience. And the audience was so into it.
Expo life: Discover, test, chat
And then, of course, there was the Expoarea, which was the hub for everything to do with bikes, parts, fashion and new trends throughout the day. Anyone who wanted to take a breather between two contests could browse here for hours - or simply talk shop with like-minded people. The atmosphere? Relaxed, interested, stoked.
Saturday in one word? Bull's eye.
From morning to night, the third day of the Dirt Masters was an all-round package: strong sporting performance, a warm family atmosphere and action-packed right up to the last second. Anyone who missed it can look forward to the grand finale tomorrow - including the decisive race in the iXS Downhill Cup and the Specialized Chili Enduro Race.
